INTRAMURAL DOCUMENTS:

Intramural signups will begin Saturday, August 25th at noon.

Sign-ups close on Thursday, August 30th at 10:00 p.m.

You MUST sign up in EventBrite to reserve your spot!!

You must follow the link to sign up for the activity that you would like to participate in. You will immediately know if you are in the activity or if you have been put on the wait list. You do NOT need to print out your ticket; it acts as a place holder for the session. Please download and fill out the permission form OR get a form from the shelf outside of Ms. Martensen’s room (152), from the Intramural board in the commons or in the office. 

TUESDAY AND/OR THURSDAY SESSIONS

Homework Helper 
Students who need additional aid and time to work on assignments, study for tests, and work on organizational skills; this is the place to be!   You can come in on Tuesday and Thursday or just one day a week.  Mrs. Nordwald  in  Room 102.

A Cappellynx
If you enjoy the music created by Pentatonix, Home Free, or in the movie Pitch perfect, this intramural is for you. A Cappellynx is for singers who want to enjoy creating music in the A Cappella style. We will need all voice types (soprano, alto, tenor, bass, vocal percussion).  Our literature will include: Contemporary, Doo-wop, Jazz, and Barbershop. (Max of 24)  Mr. Bellof in the Choir Room

TUESDAY SESSIONS

Bou and Bell
Join Ms. Ruggles as we walk to Taco Bell and Caribou Coffee.  We will enjoy good food and good company. Sign up with your friends for extra fun!  You will need to bring money for your snacks and drinks each week.  Meet in Room 146 (Sewing Room) Limit 30.

Social Issues Organization
Social Issues is a student run intramural which provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues impacting the group including, but not limited to identity, expression, cultural issues, understanding others,  and working to end negative perceptions and fears of differences.  See Mrs. V for more information regarding this Organization.

Yoga
Yoga is a great way to exercise our bodies, our breath and our minds all at the same time! Develop strength and flexibility in our bodies and peace in our minds!  Mrs. Hazell in the Upper Gym.  

THUrSDAY SESSIONS

‚ÄčSmoothie King/Culvers

  • Parents won’t let you go to Burlington Creek on Fridays with your friends?  Come with us on Thursdays!  
  • You’re already allowed to go on Fridays, why not go two days in a row!  We will walk to Smoothie King and Culvers on Thursday after school.   
Bring some money if you would like to purchase something and bring a smile to make new friends! (Max of 30) Meet Ms. Majors/Mrs Taylor in Room 111

Fashion Fun

Scrunchies! Headbands! Pillows! And more! You make it and take it home!  Basic sewing machine skills are required (so if you had 6th Grade Textiles, you’re in!)  (Max of 15)  Ms. Ruggles in Room 146 (Sewing Room)

Orchestra Extensions
Are you planning to audition for Middle School All District Orchestra and would like some extra practice time?  Come in and work with Mr. Aguilar on the stage.

Session 1 Permission Form (PDF)

The permission form must be filled out and returned to Ms. Martensen by 9/4 or the student will not be allowed to participate until the form is submitted. If there is a wait-list, the students with submitted forms will be allowed to move into the session and your child will lose their spot.

ACTIVITY PARTICIPATION: 

To participate in activities you must have: 

  1. A signed permission slip each session.
  2. Buses were assigned to students and cards were given out during registration and the first few days of school. If you are not sure of your child's assigned bus and stop location, that information will be available through the sponsor of the activity. The form will be available in the office, distributed through the teams, or see Ms. Martensen. It is important to listen to announcements to stay informed so you won't miss the fun!
  3. Some classes may require a minimal fee. Arrangements to pay the fee must be made before the first class. Each session is held on Tuesday and/or Thursday from 2:40 p.m. to 3:55 p.m. Bus transportation home is provided if prearranged. A bus schedule is also posted in the Commons.
We reserve the right to cancel activities due to lack of student interest. Hopefully that won't happen. However, if a class/activity is canceled, parents will be notified by phone and students will be encouraged to join another activity.

THINGS TO KNOW:

1. Intramural sign-ups typically happen 1-2 weeks before the session start date.
2. Intramurals start after school and run until 4:00
*Car riders are picked up at the front of the school starting at 4:00
*Students riding the IM bus will typically load the bus at approximately 4:00.
3. Sign-ups are on a first-come-first serve basis
*Watch the announcements to see when IM sign-ups are happening or you    
          can always ask me.
*Forms are available outside of Room 152, on the board in the commons, or in the office. *Sign up for RemindMe to receive text message reminders about intramural 
          information at https://www.remind.com/join/lmsims OR text @lmsims to 81010.
4. Students MUST check the board in the commons (near the restrooms) to see if they have been placed in an Intramural session.
*We do not send notification of student placement
5. Students need to check the board in the commons for IM bus.
*Your IM bus is not the same as the bus that brings students to school in the
          mornings.
6. Suggestions for session offerings are always welcome.
