INTRAMURAL DOCUMENTS:

Intramural signups will begin Saturday, March 24th at noon.

Sign-ups close on Thursday, March 29th at 10:00 p.m.

You MUST sign up in EventBrite to reserve your spot!!

You must follow the link to sign up for the activity that you would like to participate in. You will immediately know if you are in the activity or if you have been put on the wait list.
You do NOT need to print out your ticket; it acts as a place holder for the session. Please download and fill out the permission form OR get a form from the shelf outside of Ms. Martensen’s room (152), from the Intramural board in the commons or in the office.

Homework Helper 
Come in for extra help on your assignments or any other areas that you need extra help in. You can come in on Tuesday and Thursday or just one day a week. Room 105

TUESDAY SESSIONS

Bou and Bell
Join Ms. Ruggles as we walk to Taco Bell and Caribou Coffee.  We will enjoy good food and good company. Sign up with your friends for extra fun!  You will need to bring money for your snacks and drinks each week.  Limit 30.

Jazz Club
8th Grade Band Students only

Main Event Video Arcade
Go to Main Event and play their video games!  You can get purchase a time card for $5 per person. The $5 card will cover one hour of play time. With these cards, you will be able to play unlimited video arcade games for the hour; however, they will not be able to redeem any prizes. No tickets will be awarded for the games.

School Store Work Time & Snack Sales
* For students who are a part of the School Store Professional Studies Lynx Time group only. We will have students selling snacks to other intramural sessions and continue working on the physical school store setup.

Social Issues Organization
A Social Issues Organization is a student-run club, which provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about topics related to cultural issues and understanding others.  See Mrs. V for more information regarding this Organization.

Tardis Time (Dr. Who)
Allons-y, Whovians! Tie up your bow ties, throw on your Fez and get ready to hang out with some fellow Doctor Who fans as we navigate time and space with your host, and resident nerd Mr. Nutt. Who's your favorite Doctor? Who's your favorite companion? Do you like fish fingers and custard? (Surely your favorite!) We'll watch episodes and hang out watching some hand-picked episodes from Doctor Who, talk nerd stuff and enjoy each other’s company. Sonic screwdrivers welcome! Max of 30. Room 102

Writer’s Club
Are you interested in creative writing?  Join Mrs. Ronnebaum as we create different forms of creative writing: poetry, fan fiction, short stories, dramas, memoirs, and more.  Bring your computer or a journal and join others with the same interests.  We will write and give feedback to one another.

Math Homework Helper
Come work on your math homework and eat snacks with Ms. Hyatt in Room 109.

Bowling
Go to Gladstone Bowl for unlimited bowling.   Cost is $3 to bowl and rent shoes; many students bring money to purchase snacks.  You must wear socks!  You must have a ride home at 4:30.  

Harry Potter-Behind the Scenes
Join Ms. Ruggles as we continue to explore the world of Harry Potter.  We’ll watch behind the scenes videos, make some crafts, have some snacks, all inspired by the wizarding world.  Limit 18

Orchestra Extensions
Students currently enrolled in 7th and 8th grade orchestra may sign-up to receive tutoring support in preparation for this year’s solo and ensemble event.  Students have the chance to work individually or collaborate in small groups, and high school tutors will be available for assistance as well.

Session 4 Permission Form (PDF)

The permission form must be filled out and returned to Ms. Martensen by 11/6 or the student will not be allowed to participate until the form is submitted. If there is a wait-list, the students with submitted forms will be allowed to move into the session and your child will lose their spot.

ACTIVITY PARTICIPATION: 

To participate in activities you must have: 

  1. A signed permission slip each session.
  2. Buses were assigned to students and cards were given out during registration and the first few days of school. If you are not sure of your child's assigned bus and stop location, that information will be available through the sponsor of the activity. The form will be available in the office, distributed through the teams, or see Ms. Martensen. It is important to listen to announcements to stay informed so you won't miss the fun!
  3. Some classes may require a minimal fee. Arrangements to pay the fee must be made before the first class. Each session is held on Tuesday and/or Thursday from 2:40 p.m. to 3:55 p.m. Bus transportation home is provided if prearranged. A bus schedule is also posted in the Commons.
We reserve the right to cancel activities due to lack of student interest. Hopefully that won't happen. However, if a class/activity is canceled, parents will be notified by phone and students will be encouraged to join another activity.

THINGS TO KNOW:

1. Intramural sign-ups typically happen 1-2 weeks before the session start date.
2. Intramurals start after school and run until 4:00
*Car riders are picked up at the front of the school starting at 4:00
*Students riding the IM bus will typically load the bus at approximately 4:00.
3. Sign-ups are on a first-come-first serve basis
*Watch the announcements to see when IM sign-ups are happening or you    
          can always ask me.
*Forms are available outside of Room 152, on the board in the commons, or in the office. *Sign up for RemindMe to receive text message reminders about intramural 
          information at https://www.remind.com/join/lmsims OR text @lmsims to 81010.
4. Students MUST check the board in the commons (near the restrooms) to see if they have been placed in an Intramural session.
*We do not send notification of student placement
5. Students need to check the board in the commons for IM bus.
*Your IM bus is not the same as the bus that brings students to school in the
          mornings.
6. Suggestions for session offerings are always welcome.
